Founder of Wafi Health, one of the Teknopark İstanbul Cube Incubation companies, Prof. Dr. Vafi Atalay graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 2004; and completed his specialization in the Department of General Surgery at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine between 2004-2009. Prof. Dr. Vafi Atalay, who has held various academic and administrative positions, has scientific studies in his field, national and international symposiums, congresses, conference proceedings and numerous published articles.

Atalay, who started R&D studies in 2019 to eliminate the problems experienced by patients, to develop easy-to-use, affordable mechanical systems and to design equipment that can be used in surgeries, founded Wafi Health Company in Teknopark İstanbul in 2020.

The home-type ‘Anal Biofeedback Device’ he first developed won a gold medal at the 5th Istanbul International Invention Fair (ISIF’2020). The device, which is easy to use and accessible to all income groups, has eliminated the dependency on expensive imported devices that require expertise to use. In addition, Atalay has eliminated the need for a second surgery by eliminating the need for a second surgery by using a tube ileostomy method (connecting the small intestine to the abdominal wall) without removing the intestine and by applying a tube with the tube.

Prof. Dr. Vafi Atalay has completed the design work of a special equipment that will allow the operation to be performed without damaging the patient’s anal musculature to be used in anal fissure surgeries that he frequently performs, and continues clinical studies with the first prototype he has developed.
